It's true, I have an obessession with old 'treasure' trunks. I have a beautiful old tin steamer trunk that I have treasured since I was two and a half. My daughters have grown up with it, (incidentally they think it's a magic one, "once owned by REAL pirates......") But when superhubby offered to MAKE one for our loungeroom, I just couldn't wait!
Superhubby adding furniture tacks for that 'vintage feel.' Note the position of the hand to avoid hammered fingers.... ouch!
Half finished here, the new pine has had some stain effect, oil and the tacks are in place, but we are waiting on hinges here. I couldn't resist setting it up in it's new home.....
Hinges Yay Yay! Ooooh how I love it!!!!!!! I should have taken a photo inside, so you could see that we have created divisions, planned in perfect size to hold our favourite magazines..... There's a Top Gear section for him, and a Real Living and Australian Country Style section for me! Also some spares for the odd blankie or two, and perhaps my favourite board game..... That is, if there's any room left when all the mags are in tee hee!

That looks gorgeous Emma. I have an old vintage trunk that belonged to my Grandmas family - they brought it out from England with them . Hey, I just did a Junk Love post too - not sure if the group is still going or not but I found some awesome things
